About SnapMila

SnapMila turns the FTP transfer already built into professional cameras into a live photo gallery that guests open with one QR.

Who runs SnapMila

SnapMila is built and run by Bijay Kanshi, from Ratu, Ranchi, Jharkhand, India. We build for event photographers and the people who run events: weddings, conferences, product launches, offsites and parties.

Why we built it

At most events, photos reach guests days or weeks later, through a Drive link that half of them never open. Yet most professional cameras can already send each photo over Wi-Fi the moment it is taken. SnapMila gives that transfer somewhere useful to go: a gallery that fills itself while the event is still running.

How it works under the hood

  1. The photographer creates an event in the SnapMila app. The event gets its QR at once and a 6-character password for the camera.
  2. The camera logs in to our FTP server with the photographer's Gmail and that password, and uploads each JPEG as it is taken. A sign-in that fails five times is paused for a few minutes.
  3. Our server checks that each file arrived complete, keeps the original byte for byte, and makes two lighter copies for browsing (2000 and 400 pixels on the long edge). All three are stored in Cloudflare R2.
  4. Guests scan the QR and the gallery opens in their phone browser. Browsing uses the light copies; saving a photo downloads the original through a link that expires within about an hour.

If a transfer is cut or a file number is missing, the app names the file, so the photographer knows exactly what to resend. Setting up a camera takes a few minutes — see the Nikon Z50 II FTP setup guide.

What SnapMila does not do

  • It does not edit, filter or re-compress your originals.
  • It does not list galleries in search engines; a gallery opens only with its QR or link.
  • It does not need guests to install an app or create an account.
  • It does not find people by their face yet. Face search is planned; until it ships, guests browse newest first.
  • It does not take video or RAW files. Galleries are built from JPEGs.
